Debo Cornett

I'm a Realtor with Premiere | REAL Broker, LLC, serving all of Wilkes County, NC as well as the Elkin and State Road communities of Surry County and the surrounding area. I’ve been in real estate since 2004 and now am a Certified Real Estate Instructor for the NC Real Estate Commission, training new Agents to best serve their Clients.

My first career was in music and theatre. I received my degree in music education and did graduate work in both theatre and vocal performance and studied at the Lee Strassberg Theatrical Institute in New York, NY. I have been the Director of Music at the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church since 2001. After several years of teaching choral music on the high school and college levels, and traveling the country as a professional singer, I decided to seek a career in real estate, in which I had been interested for many years – and it took. I’ve now been in real estate for 20 years and helped 100’s of Clients realize their dream of home ownership or sell their current home and move on to the next step of their lives. I’ve served on my local REALTOR Association Board, as the Education Director and was appointed REALTOR of the Year for 2010 and Board President in 2011.

To best serve my Clients, I’ve received the following National Real Estate Certifications, Designations and Accreditations.

• CRS (Certified Residential Specialist); The Residential Real Estate Council is the leading education and networking organization for residential real estate agents. It awards the prestigious CRS Designation to experienced residential real estate professionals who have completed advanced professional training and proven outstanding professional achievement in residential real estate.

• GRI (Graduate of the Realtor Institute); Earning this designation is a way to stand out to prospective home buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth market knowledge, increased proficiency in a broad array of subjects to enhance professionalism and business success.
• ABR® (Accredited Buyer Representative) designees advocate for homebuyers, and are recognized as distinguished agents in the industry. The designation program establishes a foundation of training, skills, and resources to help real estate professionals succeed as a buyer's representative.

• The PSA, Pricing Strategy Advisor Certification, is specifically designed to enhance an Agent’s skills in pricing properties, creating CMAs, working with appraisers, and guiding clients through the anxieties and misperceptions they often have about the most likely sales price of homes they’re buying or selling.

• The e-PRO certification program helps REALTORS® master the advanced digital marketing techniques of today.

• The SFR®, Short-Sale/Foreclosure Resource, certification teaches real estate professionals to work with distressed sellers and the finance, tax, and legal professionals who can help them, qualify sellers for short sales, develop a short sale package, negotiate with lenders, safeguard your commission, limit risk, and protect buyers.

I have the extreme joy of sharing my career with my husband, Larry Cornett, who joined me in 2011. Together we opened our own Firm, Homes Of Wilkes, before joining the NC PREMIERE Group at REAL Broker, LLC. I met Larry after returning to Wilkes County where I was born and raised, after living in New York City, where I was studying at the Lee Strassberg Theatrical Institute and singing in some obscure clubs. By day, I was working as a freelance word processing expert with several companies, including IBM & Xerox. I last worked for AT&T in the World Trade Center, so 9/11 has a special significance for me.
